Project Description: Construction of a LEED-certified 2-story (90,000 sq. ft.) Health and Physical Education facility - The facility includes a three court gymnasium, an elevated jogging track, multiple classrooms, lockers and fitness areas.

Scope: Performing as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record - Observation and testing during grading, back-filling and compaction testing.
West Los Angeles College, Student Services & Classroom Buildings
Cost: $54 Million

Project Description: Construction of two new buildings: General Classroom Building, 46,000 sq. ft. building which will house multiple classrooms and offices for the child development, behavioral sciences and language arts departments. The Student Services Building is 49,000 sq. ft. and will mainly house administration offices.

Scope: Performing as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record - Observation and testing during grading, back-filling and compaction testing.
Torrance Unified School District

Service Dates: 2009 – Current
Project Description: The master program includes design and construction of new campuses, as well as modernization of existing school campuses, district wide.

Scope: As a part of the study to be conducted for the design phase for the Torrance School District, we perform Geotechnical and Geological Investigation, including site specific seismic hazard study for different school campuses and sites. Our work includes site reconnaissance, field drilling and sampling, laboratory testing and engineering analyses for each specific project. The results are presented in several comprehensive geotechnical engineering and engineering geology reports format providing necessary site/subsurface information for the design team.

Redondo Beach Unified School District

Service Dates: 2003 – Current
Project Description: Performed a comprehensive geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and geohazard evaluation at Redondo High School for a master development project, which includes construction of several new buildings, as well as site improvements and modernization. Also performed site investigation and prepared soils report for six other school campuses. KOURY performs field testing and monitoring for all the grading operations district wide.

Scope: As-needed geotechnical investigations and monitoring, construction inspection and materials testing at over 10 elementary and high schools. Services include: performing Geotechnical and Geological Investigation, including site specific seismic hazard study for different projects; Observation and testing during grading, backfilling and compaction testing for earth materials and asphalt concrete pavements.
